I wrote an article on Itsukushima Shrine (Hiroshima) last week but later found out from a follower's comment that its main Torii (Red Gate) is covered in scaffolding for renovation work.
Although the Shrine’s main and other buildings are open as per usual, for those who want to see the Torii, in particular, it may not be the best time. Regardless, I would still recommend visiting for all its beautiful buildings on the water…
Anyway, I created a list of eight major spots in Japan that are under renovations (as of August 20, 2019). We’ll be updating the list to reflect the latest situations of the sites periodically. Let’s take a look:
